TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian UN envoy expressed sorrow over picking Zionist regime as head of legal committee of the UN General Assembly.

Over 80 members of the UN refused to support Zionist regime in the voting.

The Organization of Islamic Countries, the Arab League, Syria and Iran delivered speech against nomination of Zionist regime.

Iranian UN envoy said that picking Zionist regime is a blow to credibility and position of the legal committee of the UN.

Zionist regime is the symbol of violation of international law and breaking the law, the Iranian envoy said.

The official pointed to frequent violation of the UN Charter principles, international law and human rights of Palestinian by the regime, adding the move means mocking UN Charter principles as well as goals the UN is set to achieve which.
