Oslo, June 13, IRNA - Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Speaker of Parliament of Norway Olemic Thommessen called for expansion of parliamentary cooperation here on Monday.
During the meeting, the ways for fostering parliamentary cooperation, regional developments, Syria in particular, as well as settlement of crisis in this Arab country through the political means were also discussed.
Touching upon Iran's post-sanction era, Zarif emphasized the need for increasing all-out mutual cooperation.
Thommessen, for his part, hailed expansion of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
Zarif arrived in capital of Norway on Monday morning.
He met with his Norwegian counterpart Borge Brende in Oslo on Monday.
In Oslo, the Iranian foreign minister is planned to meet with a number of top Norwegian officials.
After Norway, Zarif will embark on a visit to German capital, Berlin, on Wednesday to meet his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
It is less than two weeks that Zarif has returned home from his four-nation tour to Europe.
Poland, Finland, Sweden and Latvia were the four countries to which Zarif had travelled recently.
