BBC seeks to extenuate having ties with US by forgery

7 Jun 2016 - 12:02

TEHRAN, Jun. 07 (MNA) – Iran’s Parl. Speaker said Tue. the intention of BBC by releasing forged US documents was to shock the public opinion and thus extenuate having relations with the Western country.

Iranian Parliament SpeakerAli Larijani in today’s open session of the Parliament touched upon the recent move by BBC in releasing a report of forged US documents asserting that late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Khomeini secretly sent a letter to Carter in January 1979, saying “by releasing this document, they planned to cast doubt on the authenticity of the mighty fight of Imam Khomeini against America.”

“This childish game of manipulating the documents in a selective manner was revealed too soon in a way that Former US National Security Council adviser,Gary Sick, wrote an article in which he clearly explained the unfactual report by the BBC,” Larijani said.

He went on to add, “their intention for making this falsified move was to deliver a shock to the public opinion so as to lessen the abomination and atrocity of having relations with America and make the false premise that Iran has had ties with the US in the past and even during the most difficult of times.”

“Although their ruse in the end turned into a media scandal for them, this shows how desperate they are to fool the Iranian nation into diplomatic naivety,” he said.

Larijani further referred to the recent remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayat. Khamenei on having a ‘revolutionary spirit’ which shows the Leader’s "deliberate and decisive stance against these deceitful moves."
