Ankara, May 26, IRNA – Turkish Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman in a meeting with Iranian ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian called for the expansion of relations between the two countries.

“Development and deepening of political, economic and cultural relations between Ankara and Tehran as well as boosting regional and international cooperation between the two countries is a necessity,” Kahraman said during the meeting on Wednesday.

In mid-April, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in a meeting in Ankara underscored the necessity for the further expansion of trade relations between the two countries as the two neighbors signed 8 economic and political agreements.

During their meeting, President Rouhani and Davutoglu underlined increased cooperation in the banking, customs, trade and investment fields.
