21 May 2016 - 11:39

Beijing, May 20, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Friday called for promotion of cooperation between Iran and Japan in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Araqchi, who is on a visit to Japan, was speaking in a meeting with the members of Japan's International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC).

Referring to the increasing threat of terrorist groups for the entire world, Araqchi said that the two countries can expand their cooperation in this regard.

He said that an upcoming visit to Iran by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, which comes months after reaching a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers, will open a new chapter in Iran-Japan relations.
