TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with new Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Kata Venu Alimudin said there are many opportunities for Iran and Indonesia to expand ties especially in economic fields.

New Indonesian ambassador to Iran submitted his credentials to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday.

Referring to friendly relations between Iran and Indonesia, Rouhani reiterated that Iran is ready to expand cooperation with Indonesia in technical and engineering fields and in making joint investments in different areas such as energy, constructing hydroelectric dams and refineries.

In addition to economic issues, both countries can develop cooperation in other fields such as science, culture and technology.

New envoy also called for expanding cooperation between Iran and Indonesia.
