Tehran, May 11, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that the government is duty-bound to support the armed forces to boost national defense.


The president said that the incumbent government helped boost the defense capability of Iranian armed forces more than the former government. He said that if necessary, he would offer statistics in this regard.

'We are not pessimistic about the future of the country, the region and the entire world. However, we are not naïve to say that no one plays tricks for us and therefore we have to remain ready and strong,' Rouhani said.

'If we want peace, we have to get stronger and if we got weak, it means that we would embrace war,' the president added.
