TEHRAN, May 07 (Shana) – A deputy petroleum minister said Iran views export of natural gas and LNG to Europe as a chief strategy.
Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hamid Reza Araqi said export of natural gas and liquefied natural gas to Europe is one of the chief strategies of the company.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 21st Iran International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals, Araqi said Iran can send its gas to Europe through pipelines, adding Iran must adopt the latest technologies for production and export of gas in order to make its trade economically justifiable.
He further said Iran is to become the region’s gas hub, adding every country seeks their own interests and Iran is no exception.
“We must find a way to associate Iran’s interests with that of other countries,” he said.
The 21st Iran International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals will run through May 8 at Tehran’s permanent fairgrounds. Nearly 2,000 exhibiting companies from 38 countries have put their latest oil and gas achievements on public display at the showcase.
