Iran's parliament has voted to choose the new Minister of Communications and Information Technology, ISNA reported.
Mohammad Hassan Nami was chosen as the minister, after a voting of 247 delegates, 177 of which voted for his election.
Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad introduced Nami for the position of Information and Communications Technology Minister on Feb. 18.
On Feb. 2 Nami was appointed as the caretaker of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology.
General Nami previously served as Deputy Defense Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces.
