Tehran, May 4, IRNA - Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati departed for Beirut on Wednesday to discuss major regioinal issues with senior Lebanese officials.

Velayati is also to attend an international conference on Islamic Resistance Ulema Union in Beirut.

This is the second visit to Lebanon by the Iranian official. He was also in Beirut last year to take part in the meeting of the Islamic Resistance Ulema Union.
