Tehran, April 18, The Iran Project - A senior Iranian military official has announced that international conference on geopolitical crises in the Islamic World will be held in October, saying Saudi Arabia’s political system lacks legitimacy and democracy.

Understanding the weakness of their political system of absolute monarchy and the poverty and misery of the majority of people in their country, Saudis want to escape forward, while the nature of their political system lacks legitimacy and democracy, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a top military adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday.

Referring to the 13th summit of Islamic Cooperation Organization in Istanbul and passing 4 anti-Iran articles by Saudis, Safavi said Saudi Arabia wants to seriously enter regional crises, create different coalitions, play a leading role among Islamic countries and oppose the regional role of Iran which intends to invite the Islamic countries to strengthen unity and Islamic resistance in the region.

The Iranian general explained Saudi Arabia’s geopolitical purposes for entering the regional crises and said:

"Now they want to play a new role to oppose and compete with Iran on the behalf of the Americans and the Zionists, but Iranian politicians will intelligently neutralize Saudis’ new plot in the region," he added.

He also described the objectives of the international conference on geopolitical crises in the Islamic world as recognizing the world’s geopolitical challenges and crises, outlining a common understanding of the ways to solve them, and being influential in developing international relations and producing scientific and social literature of Islamic nations’ unity and integrity.
