In recent days, Aleppo and its suburbs have witnessed repeated violation of ceasefire by armed terrorist groups, the most important of which include the massive invasion of Tel el-Ais by Jaish al-Fatah, Ahrar al-Sham, Faylaq Al-Sham, Jaysh al-Hur and Jabhat al-Nusra. According to reports, the terrorist groups invaded The Khan Tuman district and seized Berne, Al-Zarbeh, and Zitan village, Jaish al-Islam is also accused of using chemical weapons in targeting Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo city.
The violation of ceasefire by terrorist groups is coincident with the new round Geneva peace talks and Syrian National Council election. Apart from Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS that are excluded from the terms of cease-fire between Syrian government and pro-western armed groups, the other militant groups are participating members of the peace talks with Syrian officials. Syrian government warned of the groups’ affiliation with terrorist organizations, while western powers neglected the fact that their actions were an obstacle to the continuation of finding a peaceful solution for the crisis.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, supporters of the opposition militant groups, promised to respect the terms of the cease-fire, while practically equipping and training the extremist groups and supporting their atrocious attacks on innocent people.
