TEHRAN, April 02 (Shana) – Ten petrochemical plants in Assaluyeh, south of Iran, are constantly monitored for pollution, an environmental official said.

Hossein Delshab, director of the department of environment in the southern province of Bushehr, said 10 petrochemical plants in Assaluyeh are equipped with systems for online monitoring of their emissions and pollution and the rest of the plants will get the systems in the near future.

He said the department has devised serious agendas to address the issue of emission by petrochemical plants in the province.

Assaluyeh is the hub of petrochemical activities in Iran and supplies a considerable share of the country's 60mt/y petrochemical output.

Delshab said talks are under way with National Petrochemical Company (NPC) for installation of the systems in all petrochemical plants across Iran in a bid to preserve the environment.
