TEHRAN, Mar. 19 (MNA) – Iran’s Zarif held talks with Turkish premier on ways to develop Tehran-Ankara ties during post-sanction era.

“Economies of Iran and Turkey are complementary and the trade between two countries needs to go beyond the normal ways,” Tukish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu said during his meeting with Iran’s visiting Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Istanbul on Saturday.

Noting the importance of Iran’s participation in Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul, Davuto?lu underlined that the organization has to be a symbol of unity among Muslim countries.

“Turkey has always been seeking positive relations with Iran; Ankara and Tehran have enjoyed the best bilateral ties during the sanctions and now, as sanctions have removed, it is time to boost the relations to the highest level,” reiterated Turkish PM emphasizing the need to expand ties in all possible fields including energy and transportation.

Iran’s Zarif, for his part, stressed the expansion of all-out ties between the two countries, adding, “sustainable cooperation of Ankara and Tehran conveys the positive message to the Islamic world.”
