Iran, Syria & Russia coordination wisely manages regional developments: Deputy FM

Tehran, March 15, The Iran Project - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister says the coordination of countries like Iran, Russia and Syria has showed that global and regional developments can be wisely managed.

In a meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal al-Meqdad on Tuesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said the coordination of Iran, Russia and Syria indicated that global and regional developments can be wisely managed.

He referred to the global developments in the transition period and emphasized that in today's world, one or more countries cannot be the ultimate decision makers.

Speaking about the latest developments in Syria after ceasefire, he stated that the Syrian crisis was almost a global conspiracy against the country that was foiled by the heroic resistance of the Syrian government and the nation.

Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad also said that several countries were united against the Syrian government and nation and sent all terrorists and criminals of the world to Syria but they did not succeed.

Referring to the ceasefire in Syria, Miqdad added that this period has opportunities and challenges for us and we are trying to take advantage of the opportunities, one is to talk with tens of armed groups inside Syria to bring them to the process of peace and reconciliation.

The foreign-backed conflict in Syria, which began in March 2011, has claimed the lives of more than 470,000 people, according to figures by the Syrian Center for Policy Research.
