17 Feb 2013 - 15:16

Iranian film "Closed Curtain," shot by director Jafar Panahi while under house arrest in Tehran, picked up the Silver Bear for best screenplay at this year’s Berlin Film festival, which closed up shop on Saturday.

Panahi, who previously won prizes of the Cannes, Venice of Berlin festivals, was arrested in March 2010 and sentenced for engaging in antigovernment activities.

Right now he is under house arrest and under a 20-year ban on making new films, writing screenplays, meeting journalists and leaving the country.
