Assembly of Experts current term holds last session

Tehran, March 8, IRNA - The 4th term of the Assembly of Experts started a 2-day meeting on Tuesday which will be its last session since its tenure ends in May, 2016.

Member of the Presiding Board, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said the Head of Guardian Council Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati will give a report regarding recent twin elections of the Assembly of Experts and Iranian parliament (majlis).

Guardian Council supervises elections in Iran.

According to Ayatollah Khatami, Government Spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht has been invited to present a report to the 88 members of the Assembly on economic problems of the country.

He added an economic expert has also been invited to take a critical look at the spokesman's report.

Khatami said the opening ceremony of the 5th term of the Assembly of Experts will be held on May 24.

Assembly of Experts is an important body in Iran which is responsible for supervising and electing the supremer leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
