Iran's govt. respects election results democratically

TEHRAN, Feb. 29 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari hailed the massive turnourt in the elections, saying the event shows the people of Iran are serious to determine their fate.


Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari at his weekly press conference on Monday in Tehran, touched upon a wide range of issues, from election results to the denial of visa issuance by Saudi Arabia for Iranian delegation.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran is doing its best to help truce in Syria, adding that it supports the national agreement among all political factions in the Arab country.

He reiterated that despite Iran's great efforts to establish ceasefire in Syria, many nations and countries who support terrorist groups helped violate the truce, a policy which only undermines the will and seriousness of Saudi Arabia and other actors, as they claim they seek to help resolve the Syrian crisis.

Jaberi Ansari underlined that Iran’s presence in Syria is limited to provideing advisory services.

He slammed the Saudi Arabian government for blaming other countries for its domestic problems. "Rise of terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia are the result of Riyadh’s policy for supporting terrorists," he noted.

Strongly condemning the bomb attack Iraq, Jaberi Ansari extended his condolences to Iraqi nation and goverment, saying the event shows terrorists are not seeking political solution to the crisis.

He also voiced protest to the denial of visa issuing to Iranian delegation by Saudi government on Sunday, calling it an act lacking the legitimacy and in line with violation of commitments of the host governement, which is obliged to cooperate and facilitate the official visit of foreign delegations.

Jaberi Ansari said Turkey will chair over the OIC meeting in Jeddah which prepares the draft of future resolution of the OIC to be officially issued in Istanbul.

Touching upon the elections results, he underlined the government respects the Iranian nation and the ballots they cast in a very democratic manner.

He hailed the massive turnourt in the elections, saying the event shows the people of Iran are serious to determine their own fate.
