Iran seeking compensation for Mina victims

28 Feb 2016 - 15:37

Sanandaj, Kordestan Prov, Feb 28, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Ministry is following up receiving blood money from Saudi Arabia for Iranians killed in Mina, head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said.

Saeed Ohadi described Mina event in Saudi Arabia as the most tragic incident in world history.

On September 24, 2015, over 8,000 pilgrims including 461 Iranians were killed in Mina due to stampede.

In a meeting with Mamusta Abdolrahman Khodaei, Sanandaj Friday prayers leader, Ohadi said Mina incident should not be forgotten as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has stressed.

79 Sunni pilgrims were also among the Iranians killed in Mina.

Many believe that Saudi incompetence and mismanagement caused the Hajj tragedy, said Ohadi.

Iran enjoys full power and security, while certain regional states are suffering from insecurity, said he.
