‘Oblivion Season’ wins titles in Irvine Filmfest.

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) – Director and actress of ‘Oblivion Season’ have reportedly won Best Film and Best Actress of Irvine 2016 Film Festival, held in California, January 15-21.


Irvine Film Festival had reportedly said the 11 of its screened movies were nominated for Oscars Academy Awards in 2013. The film festival awards the select movies in long, documentary, short film, and animated work sections. Films are screened in Laguna Hills in south of Orange County. A press conference is also held in Laguna Hills, where Sareh Bayat and Abbas Rafei, actress and director of the film had reportedly won the Best Actress and Best Director trophies for the film ‘Oblivion Season’ (officially, ‘Fariba’s Oblivion Season’).

Sareh Bayat had also been nominated before in New Jersey and Universal Film Festivals. She was awarded the Best Actress award in India’s JIFF (Jaipur International Film Festival) earlier in January.

‘Oblivion Season’ has so far participated in and won many trophies from different international film festivals including US Buffalo Film Festival, Chicago Asian Films Festival, and Montréal, International Film Festival, to name only a few. The film was also featured in Hollywood official website and the website’s 5 best films for 2015. Filmnegaran Distributors is the main distributor of the film in EU and the US.
