Iran, Estonia confer on latest developments in ME

TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) – In a meeting in Tehran, FM Political Manager of Estonia Paul Teesalu and Iranian Deputy FM Amir-Abdollahian discussed latest developments in the Middle East.


Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met recently with Paul Teesalu, Director General of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.

During the meeting, the two sides conferred on Iran-Estonia relations, the latest developments and crises in the Middle East region, ways to settle regional conflicts and the fight against terrorism.

Amir-Abdollahian discussed with the Estonian official the current situation in Syria, Yemen and other countries in the region, stating the Islamic Republic’s principled positions on these issues.

“Being informed of other countries’ positions including Iran as a major and effective country in the region is highly significant in forming Estonia’s foreign policies toward the Middle East issues,” said Teesalu.

Paul Teesalu visited Iran at the invitation of his counterpart Ebadollah Molaei, Director-General of Foreign Ministry for the Department of North and East Europe, from 16 to18 Feb. 2016 and held talks with senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, and Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
