Mashhad, Feb 18, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati said that election of Mashhad as Asia's Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2017 is an opportunity to better introduce Iran.


Speaking at the national organizing committee of Mashhad 2017, he said the event can attract the attention of the world's elites to Iran and Mashhad.

'Therefore, we shall promote our Iranian-Islamic culture.'
He said that the government has plans to allocate a section of its financial credits to the Mashhad 2017 project and will facilitate investment of the private sector through banking finances.

Governor General of Khorasan Razavi Province Alireza Rashidian briefed the meeting about the measures taken to host Mashad 2017 events.
