Iran, Turkey trade turnover to reach $35bn

TEHRAN, Feb. 01 (MNA) – Head of Turkish Gaziantep’s Chamber of Commerce has announced the reaching of 35 billion dollars of trade turnover on the basis of preferential trade agreement between Iran and Turkey.

 


Speaking at Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines on Sunday, Ayub Bartek referred to the trade potentials of Iran and Turkey asserting “the two countries share numerous commonalities which need to be taken into mind with regard to transport and logistics in bilateral relations.”

Head of Gaziantep province’s Chamber of Commerce continued “Iran and Turkey can make good trade partners since Turkey remains as the gateway of Iranian products to Europe while Iran marks the entrance for Turkish goods to the Central Asia.

“The ongoing issues between the two counties seem to be resolvable due to Turkey’s determination in forming meaningful business ties with Iran,” he asserted.

Bartek appreciated the trade ability of Iranians though Turkish people are also able businessmen and together, they can increased the trade turnover; “preferential trade agreements between Iran and Turkey in 2015 has set the goal of reaching 35 billion dollars in volume of business.”

The official further enumerated various local products professionally manufactured in Gaziantep province of Turkey including carpet, pasta, polypropylene, footwear and furniture which can be exported to Iran while Turkey can import raw material from Iran.

He further announced the upcoming visit of a Turkish trade delegation to Iran aiming to increase the trade turnover between the two countries and analyze the existing barriers.
