TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) – Iranian deputy FM underlined that Riyadh tries to compensate for its inaction to Iran's success in nuclear talks by execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr and creating tension in the region.
“Recent events in Saudi Arabia unveils the government’s true face in seeking by every means to prevent implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA),”Amir-Abdollahian said quoted on Monday by Nozar Shafiee, a senior member of parliament.
Shafiei said that during his presence at the Parliament commission earlier Monday, Amir-Abdollahian asserted that in addition to the issues raised, Riyadh hopes the delay in the implementation of JCPOA would synchronize with upcoming presidential election in the US which they believe might lead to some developments on the way of JCPOA.
He believed that Saudi regime's aggressive acts have also been influenced by regional developments.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed hope that Riyadh would act wisely and refrain from its aggressive and ambitious behaviors.
