Tehran, Jan 7, IRNA – Prosecutor General Ebrahim Raeesi said on Thursday that investigations into the attack on the Saudi embassy in Tehran are still underway.
Immediately after the incident, the Prosecutor General's office stepped in and began probing into the attack, Raeesi said speaking to reporters.
Angry protesters stormed the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the country's consulate in Mashad on Saturday night to show their objection to Riyadh's brutal execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
'Different aspects of the incident are under investigation by intelligence agencies and necessary information will be released to the public when the facts become clear,' Raeesi said.
He also condemned the execution of Sheikh Nimr, a scholar who he said his fault was nothing but criticizing the Saudi government.
