According to GoodReads, author Dahlia Abraham-Klein is a food educator and nutritionist who draws from her own family heritage to create meals that honor what is most meaningful about cooking and food everywhere in the world—a connectedness to place, history and family. Her book is about developing culinary awareness and celebrating diversity— discovering foods with contrasting tastes and textures that are simple and easy to prepare.
In a part of her description of the book, Dahlia says, “I create delicious, happy-to-be-alive dishes that are only possible with organic, high-quality ingredients. I love the challenge of taking non-vegetarian recipes from my childhood and turning them into their healthier vegetarian counterparts.”
Dahlia says she is especially interested in healing people through cooking, making people feel invigorated when they walk away from the table.
Every recipe includes a generous garnish of Dahlia's personal memories and cultural insights. This user-friendly cookbook can become an asset in everyone’s kitchen.
The book includes recipes from many countries along the Silk Road. It also addresses cooking a number of Persian dishes like Kookoo Sabzi.

As an Iranian woman who loves cooking I feel that the book "Silk Road Vegeterian" is something different than all those cookbooks I encountered and which include the same types of boring fish, chicken and meat dishes that everyone already knows and is tired of. While reading the book, I felt so many exotic dining options in mind to make a different dinner table with the message of health. The recipes are cultural and have never been written down formally, and only passed down through word of mouth from generation to generation for hundreds. Silk Road Vegetarian is truly one of a kind.
