Kish Island, Hormuzgan prov, Dec 24, IRNA – Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said naval forces have successfully provided safe passage to 3,200 Iranian commercial ships through the Gulf of Aden in recent years.
 
Talking to IRNA in this Persian Gulf island on Wednesday, the Commander praised navy's successful performance in providing safe passage for Iran’s commercial ships through Gulf of Aden.

Sayyari said this brilliant performance proved the power of the Iranian Navy.

He went on to highlight the strong presence of the Iranian naval forces in the international waters spreading from north of Indian Ocean to Bab-el-Mandeb to Gulf of Aden and Red Sea.

The Commander said providing safe passage to country's commercial fleet through dangerous regions in the free waters has practically enabled the Iranian economy to maintain its normal procedure of activities.

Noting that naval forces of all world countries are present in the international waters, he said Iranian navy too is there to provide due security for its oil tankers and commercial vessels.

Sayyari is in Kish to attend the 17th International Maritime Industries and Navigation Exhibit which was inaugurated on Tuesday.

Some 200 domestic and foreign companies are participating in the exhibition.

50 foreign companies are present in the exhibition either directly or through their Iranian partners.

Iranian modern cargo ships and warships are being exhibiting in the four-day event.
