Iranian, Azeri ministers receive title of Tabriz honorary citizenship

Tehran, December 23, The Iran Project- Iran’s minister of communication and the visiting Azeri minister of economic development received the title of Tabriz Honorary Citizen conferred by Tabriz Municipality in a ceremony in Tabriz on Tuesday.

During the ceremony on the sidelines of the 10th Iran-Azerbaijan joint economic commission in Tabriz, Sadegh Najafi, the city’s mayor awarded the title of Honorary Citizen to Iran’s Minister of Communication, Mahmoud Vaezi and Azeri Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev to praise their joint efforts to boost ties on the basis of Tabriz.

In this meeting in northwest of Iran, noting the unprecedented mutual ties of two countries in past two decades, Vaezi demanded the removal of the banking obstacles and facilitating the transportation and visas. Elsewhere in this meeting, Azeri minister highlighted the importance the Azeri president attaches to expansion of relations with Iran.

10th Iran-Azerbaijan joint economic commission kicked off in Tehran on Monday with the attendance of Mahmoud Vaezi and Azeri minister of economic development.

The joint delegation headed by two ministers also met on Tuesday in Tabriz with the presence of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce in order to discuss the issues on finance, economy, trade, transportation and energy.
