Tehran, December 20, The Iran Project- The minister of interior says Iran is ready to dispatch physicians to offer necessary training for addiction treatment to Afghanistan.
Speaking in the joint meeting between Afghanistan’s Minister of Counter Narcotics and Iran’s Ministry of Interior on Sunday, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli noted the cultural and religious similarities of two countries, expressing Iran’s reediness to provide Afghanistan with the necessary medical training and also to supply the required medicines in addiction treatment.
Responding to the Afghans official's request for Iran’s cooperation in alternative cultivation projects, he mentioned the failure of past initiatives, stressing the need to further consultation between two countries.
Elsewhere in this meeting, Salam Azimi, the Minister of Counter Narcotics of Afghanistan, appreciated Iran’s commitments to resolve the problem of illicit drug trafficking, stressing that the issue is related to all countries.
Noting Iran’s effective plans in the area of the addicts' treatment and rehabilitation, he highlighted his country's initiatives to control addiction in Afghanistan.
