Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA -- Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah underlined that Iran has realized the interests of Kuwait and other Persian Gulf littoral states and it will safeguard the security's region as if it is its own.
'I am confident that the Iranian leaders understand the interests of Kuwait and other Persian Gulf states,' Sheikh Sabah told the Arabic-language al-Qabas newspaper on Thursday.
He, meantime, said that Kuwait is a peaceful country and it has never been in pursuit of ambitious policies against other countries.
'We are assured that the neighboring countries respect Iran's willingness to restore peace and security and for the same reason we are confident about the current situation,' Sheikh Sabah added.
Kuwait government on Tuesday increased its defense budget for the Persian Gulf region that has become unsafe for many years due to the activities of the extremist groups like Taliban, Al-Qaeda and the ISIL.
