Kerman, Nov 25, IRNA – Iran's navy keeps a strong presence in the free and international waters, says Majid Tavassoli one of Iran's navy commanders.

'Iran's navy force, with a message of peace and friendship, defends the country's interests,' said the commander of the Shohada Navy Training Center in the City of Sirjan in Kerman Province on Wednesday.

Speaking in regards to the upcoming Iranian National Navy Day, which falls on November 28, Tavassoli urged that the Navy is standing powerfully against any threat and it will not allow threats like pirates put in peril Iran's security.

Iran commemorates November 28 as its National Navy Day. On this date in 1980, Iranian Navy Force launched a major crushing operation codenamed Operation Morvarid against Iraq and secured a victory.
