Tehran, Nov 23, IRNA - Visiting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Monday called Tehran and Caracas as two real friends enjoying sustainable good relations.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Maduro referred to the late former president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez's love for the Iranian nation and Ayatollah Khamenei and said that he shares similar feelings.
'I have always learned from you and your advices have always impressed me,' he added.
The Venezuelan president stressed importance of resistance for independent nations, adding that imperialism creates chaos in the world to sabotage countries' independence.
The Venezuelan nation and government are ready to counter US plots by relying on people's support, he added.
Maduro urged promotion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Caracas and called for revival of OPEC's (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) role in the world.
Maduro arrived in Tehran late on Sunday to take part in the today summit meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) slated for this afternoon.
