TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (MNA) – Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) has announced it will put on display items related to culture and art in Buch Wien, notably stories of Shahnameh, Iranian natural epic by Firdausi.
Iran’s pavilion will be 12 square meters in the Vienna International Book Fair where books on History, Iranology, calligraphy, stories from Shahnameh ‘The Epic of Kings’, Persian language learning, art, and landscape posters from Iran will be displayed for the interested public.
15th Vienna International Book Fair will be held November 12-15 in an area of 8,800 square meters. This is for the third time that Iran participates in the fair. It is the greatest book and literature event in Austria held by private sector. It displays books in six categories of fiction, cooking, non-fiction, travelogue, and teens’ books.
Buch Wien has also 300 side-events which attracts more than 40,000 people annually. The entrance fee is € 7 for public; for students, it becomes half; however, for family visit, you should pay € 13. It is free for under-14.
Iran’s participation in European book fairs has recently stymied by famously inviting Salman Rushdie by Frankfurt Book Fair earlier in October. Iran objected to the invitation of Indian born British author of Satanic Verses, which had sparked uproar among the Muslims, and resigned from the event.
