8 Nov 2015 - 18:18

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary spokesman rejected reports on Sunday that managers of a number of mobile social networking groups have been arrested in the country’s western province of Qazvin on charges of acting against moral security.

Speaking in his weekly press conference in Tehran, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei said a report about the arrests is untrue, adding that the prosecutor general of Qazvin has subpoenaed the person who spread the report.

Earlier on Saturday, reports began circulating that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has detained managers of a number of mobile social networking groups on charges of acting against moral security in the society.

It was reported that over 170 managers had been identified following an intelligence operation and a number of them were taken into custody in the province of Qazvin.

The detainees were said to have been handed over to the related authorities following necessary judicial procedures.
