5 Nov 2015 - 16:52

Tehran, Nov 5, IRNA -- Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that a 160-member economic delegation from South Africa is scheduled to visit Tehran in the near future.

Speaking to IRNA, he said the economic delegation comprising businessmen, industrialists and investors will make feasibility studies on potential projects.

Meanwhile, he said that South African First Vice-President Ramaphosa is to arrive in Tehran on Saturday.

The visit takes place upon official invitation extended by Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri.

During his stay in Tehran, the South African first vice president is to visit with the country's high ranking officials in order to prepare grounds for the upcoming visit of South African president to Tehran, he said.

The South African economic delegation will also visit their Iranian counterparts to discuss expansion of business cooperation between the two countries, he said.

Iran is determined to broaden relations and cooperation mainly after termination of economic sanctions, Amir Abdollahian said.

Describing Tehran-Pretoria relations as satisfactory, Amir Abdollahian said the two countries have record of good economic cooperation.

The Iranian and South African foreign ministers played a leading role in broadening ties and cooperation, he said.

Tehran hosted meeting of Iran-South Africa high economic and political commission last summer.
