Iran, Russia resolute to expand ties in post-sanction era, says Iran envoy

TEHRAN (ISNA)- The second generation for expanding Tehran-Moscow ties has started, said Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaie.

He said that entering the post-sanction period is a new chapter in Tehran-Moscow ties, adding the two countries can also work in settling Syrian crisis, peaceful use of nuclear energy, producing sustainable isotopes and exchanging uranium.

“Iran-Russia ties entered a new phase after the nuclear agreement. The relations will be more significant comparing to the past,” he told ISNA.

The Iranian ambassador said that the country is after joining Eurasia Investment Bank and establishing a joint bank with Russia, adding the bilateral relations between the two countries are of numerous strategic aspects.

Sanaie also said that Russia has allocated $5 billion to fund industrial and economic plans between the two sides.

The Iranian ambassador said that Russian labor minister, prime minister and minister of industries plan to visit Iran, and that Russia plans to establish an industrial exhibition in Iran.

Eurasia economic union trade minister would visit Iran in November, Sanaie said.
