Former foreign policy risked zero oil exports: Veep

28 Oct 2015 - 17:25

TEHRAN, Oct. 27 (Shana) – First Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri said if Iran followed the foreign policy of past years, instead of the current way of development, it could no longer export a single barrel of oil today.

Speaking at a meeting to mark the Statistics and Planning Day, he said, “Those behind the sanctions were after depicting a violent and formidable picture of Iran, but we followed three short-term objectives of safeguarding the achievements, securing the nation’s rights, and removal of sanctions.”

“The outcome was negotiations, interaction, dialog, reasoning, and logic,” he added, “In the post-sanction period, we are facing both opportunities and threats.”

Iran will use the opportunity of the nuclear agreement to settle the society’s problems, said Jahangiri.
