The minister of culture and Islamic guidance has stressed the need for closer media ties between Iran and Russia.

In a meeting with Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media ?Nikolai Nikiforov, Ali Jannati said that in a world which is facing a media war waged by the West, we need to rely on and boost our indigenous culture.He further said that Iran and Russia have good diplomatic cooperation on Middle Eastern issues, adding that the two sides can also enhance their ties on the media front, especially in cooperation between the official news agencies of the two countries.
