Moscow, Oct 22, IRNA – Majlis (Iranian parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani and Russian President Vladimir Putin in a meeting in Sochi city on Thursday discussed bilateral ties and regional issues.
Larijani and Putin reviewed the regional development, specially Syria and Iraq as well as ways to confront the terrorists in the regional countries.
The Iranian parliament speaker and the Russian president discussed bilateral ties, and underlined the need to make use of the opportunities for the expansion of relations.
The meeting between Larijani and President Pution took place on the sidelines of the meeting of Valdai International Discussion Club in the Russian resort town of Sochi.
Larijani and President Putin both delivered speech in the final day of the meeting of Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi.
The Iranian parliament speaker and the Russian Putin reiterated the international community's resolute confrontation with terrorism in the Middel East, and called for halt to any foreign from the terrorists.
Larijani renewed Iran's stance on the strategy to resolve the Syrian crisis by holding national dialogue in the Arab country.
'Tactical and instrumental encounter of the big powers with the issue of terrorism has been the strategic mistake of the recent decades of these powers; the traces of the intelligence services of some big powers can be seen in the history of the formation and activities of the terrorist currents,' Majils speaker added.
Larijani said that under the present conditions that the threat of terrorism has been highlighted by leaders of all countries, it is quite clear that the big powers supply the terrorist under the guise of moderate opposition with weapons and military hardware.
