TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Ambassadors of Palestine, Sudan, India and Uzbekistan in Tehran met and discussed various issues with Iran’s Zarif.


In meeting with Palestine’s ambassador to Iran on Monday afternoon, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif deemed the Zionists’ policies as the main cause of all problems in the region and said the Israeli regime has always tried to distract the public opinion from the question of Palestine.

“The Power of the Islamic Republic of Iran would cause no harm to anyone except for the Zionists and constantly trumpeting Iran’s empowerment would be all grist to the enemy’s mill," said Zarif.

Also at the meeting, Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah Alzavavi praised Iran’s support of the Palestinian cause deeming US and Israeli policies as two sides of the same coin and added: “the US has no definite policy towards Palestine and they do not intend to resolve the issues.”

Sudan’s new Ambassador to Iran Adil Ibrahim Mustafa also met with the Iranian foreign minister and submitted his credentials.

During the meeting, Iran’s Zarif dubbed Sudan as a friend country and expressed good wished for the new ambassador; “we hope the long-lasting and brotherly relations between the two countries will strengthen with your efforts,” he added.

Sudan’s ambassador also referred to Iran as an important and powerful country in the region and said, “my main objective would be enhancing bilateral relations in all political, economic, commercial and cultural fields.”

The Republic of Uzbekistan’s new ambassador to Tehran also met with Mohammad Javad Zarif presenting his credentials.

Zarif pointed out the two sides’ commonalities in various areas and said, “cooperation between Tehran and Tashkent is essential since the region is facing the threat of spreading extremism.”

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Bahador Abdullaev, for his part, conveyed warm greetings of the Uzbek foreign minister expressing his country’s readiness to expand bilateral relations.

Pointing to the advantages of the nuclear deal between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries, Abdullaev noted, “the strategy used by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the course of nuclear negotiations can be considered as a diplomatic approach and it can be taught at universities in the future.”

Later on Monday evening, India’s new Ambassador to Tehran Saurabh Kumar also met and talked with Iran’s foreign minister handing in his credentials.

Zarif, referring to calm relations between the two countries, stressed the deepening of relations in all areas especially economic cooperation as well as joint projects.

Saurabh Kumar also conveyed greetings of his country’s foreign minister pointing to the historical relations between the two countries and announced India’s readiness to participate in several projects including the development of Chabahar port and petrochemical industries as well as expansion of cooperation in energy sector.

He expressed hope that with the participation of various delegations and signing of documents between the two countries we will observe the expansion of relations between Delhi and Tehran.
