Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on Friday lauded Iranian military commander Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani who was martyred in Syria.
In a message on Friday, Amir-Abdollahian said the Iranian martyred commander played a graved role in security of the region and the world in encountering terrorism.
“The message of resistance and perseverance of Martyr General Hamedani served as the key to success and resistance of Syria,” read the message.
He said people of Syria and the resistance movement there will continue to follow the path of the Iranian martyr seriously.
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in a statement on Friday announced martyrdom of Brig. Gen. Hamedani in Syria.
Funeral procession for the martyr will be held on Sunday.
