TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif rapped the radical positions held by the Canadian government in recent years, saying those policies have led to the North American country’s isolation in the international community.
The radical policies adopted by the current administration of Canada in the international community have isolated the country and tainted Ottawa’s image and reputation in the world, Zarif stressed.
He made the remarks in a Sunday gathering of Iranian expats residing in the United States and Canada. The gathering, which was held in New York, was also attended by Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
Zarif further referred to the Iranian foreign ministry’s efforts to facilitate consular services for Iranian expats in US and Canada, but regretted that the ruling Canadian government has always prevented the provision of such services.
A reaction by the Iranian elites community in Canada to the unjustified restrictions and anti-Iran policies held by the North American country is not unlikely, the Iranian foreign minister added.
Canada in recent years has sharpened its anti-Iran rhetoric, raising scores of allegations and claims against the country, mostly in support for the policies held by the Zionist regime of Israel.
