VYasouj, Sept 18, IRNA – Commander of Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Pourdastan said that there is no need for concern over threats of terrorist and Takfiri group of ISIL anywhere in Iran.

Addressing a local ceremony on Friday, he said that given the wise guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, public support and vigilance of the armed forces, terrorist and Takfiri group of ISIL will never be able to infiltrate the Iranian borders.

'Ground Force is fully prepared to suppress ISIL terrorists before they approach the country's borders,' he said.

Stating that ISIL is opposed to Shia, the commander said that the terrorist group is seeking to tarnish the image of Islam.

Given the depth of enmity between Iran and the US, he said, the criminal US has targeted unity and power of Islam since the time it has entered the region.

Extending domination over the energy sources, preventing spread of Islamic awakening, presence under the pretext of fighting terrorism are the main goals of the US to infiltrate the Islamic states, Pourdastan said.

The new strategy of the US in Islamic states is to counter Shiism and create division between Shiites and Sunnis, the commander said.
