Iran may suspend 5+1 talks

21 Jan 2013 - 16:06

Iranian lawmaker Mansour HaqiqatpourTEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Deputy Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission says Iran may suspend talks on nuclear issue due to the Western intentions to prolong the process.
Mansour Haqiqat Pour in interview to Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting website provided comments on the Iran-5+1 talks, saying that “Europe and the West want to prolong talks and they are seeking specific objectives hereby.”

“But as we have always said, we are ready for negotiations. But, their approach reveal that other side do not care much about it,” he asserted.

Deputy Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission added that if representatives of the Agency or the west used the approach as a weapon in the eve of Iran presidential elections, Iran might also decide on a two-three year suspension of the negotiations.

He believed that western countries having huge nuclear weapons arsenal were not eligible for expressing opinion on other countries’ peaceful programs and that western diplomats were not qualified to comment on Iran’s nuclear issues and that the country was responsible only to International organizations.
