Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA – Syrian Information Minister Omran Al-Zoubi stressed the need for a true social and parliamentary action in Europe to expose terrorist organizations that are expanding and spreading their vindictive mentality of indiscriminate violence.
Meeting the delegation of Dutch and Belgian political activists currently visiting Syria, al-Zoubi questioned the European Union’s policy towards Syria, wondering whom does it serve and if it’s logical for the EU to impose sanctions on a state and army that are fighting terrorism, Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported.
The Minister stressed that Turkey has opened its borders to allow terrorists to flow freely into Syria, with Turkish authorities sometimes even facilitating this flow, affirming that the international alliance against ISIS is nothing but a huge lie, and that facts prove that this alliance is a failure and that it’s selective in choosing its targets.
For their part, members of the delegation said they will work to spread awareness in Europe about what is happening in Syria.
On a relevant note, the delegation members reiterated their intent to inform European public opinion about events in Syria at a press conference they held.
The activists said that Syria is fighting terrorism on behalf of the world, and in doing so, Syria is defending Europe, stressing that there are media outlets that are complicit in shedding Syrian blood and yet are used as sources for news in Europe.
The delegation includes member of the Socialist Party in the Netherlands Sonja van den Ende, Belgian writer and analyst Willy Van Damme, and representatives of Syrian expatriates in Belgium and the Netherlands.
