22 Aug 2015 - 22:48

Tehran, Aug 22, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Secretary of State of the Swiss Foreign Ministry Yves Rossier, in a meeting in Bern on Saturday, underlined the need for fighting terrorism and extremism, noting that the current measures to counter terrorism are insufficient.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the latest developments in Syria and Yemen, stressing the necessity for focusing on political resolutions and dispatching humanitarian supplies to the war-hit countries.
They called for an immediate halt to the military aggression on Yemen and removing the humanitarian siege on the innocent Yemeni people.
The deputy foreign minister once again underlined the significance of Iran's political plan proposed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to the UN secretary general in the beginning of the crisis.
They also highlighted the necessity for completing political process in Lebanon and accelerating the election of a new president.
