17 Aug 2015 - 17:01

Ankara, Aug 17, IRNA – An Iranian carrier truck was attacked by an improvised fire bomb that completely torched the hauler.

Unidentified attackers threw Molotov cocktails Sunday night at the carrier in the vicinity of Dogubayaz?t, a Turkish city located about 25 kilometers from the Iranian border. No casualty has been reported.

The truck driver, identified by his surname as Rahmani, said that he pulled over his vehicle soon after it was attacked by Molotov cocktails.

Carrying a load of tissue papers, the truck was heading to Iran from the city of Gaziantep in southeast Turkey.

Firefighters stopped the fire from reaching the loaded trailer, but they could not save the hauler and it was burned completely, Anatolia News Agency reported on Monday.

Turkish police started a manhunt for the attackers, the agency said.

There have been multiple attacks on the Iranian trucks inside Turkey during the last two weeks.

An Iranian bus and a passenger train travelling between the two neighboring countries have also been attacked on the Turkish soil during the period.

The attacks, so far, have left one Iranian dead and three more injured.
