Beirut, Aug 11, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif renewed Iran’s support for Lebanon to help the Arab country restore and maintain the needed peace and security.
“Today everyone should work hand in hand in Lebanon that is a good example of resistance and Iran is ready to stay beside the Lebanese people and cooperate with the people of that country,” Zarif told reporters after his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Tamam Salam in Beirut on Tuesday evening.
Zarif and Salam in a meeting in Beirut earlier today discussed mutual cooperation.
During the meeting in Beirut on Tuesday, Zarif and Salam underlined the need for the further broadening of bilateral ties.
The Iranian foreign minister and the Lebanese prime minister also discussed regional developments during their meeting in Lebanon’s capital.
Zarif, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Beirut on Tuesday evening in the first leg of his second regional tour after the final nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, China, Russia, France and Britain plus Germany) in Vienna on July 14.
