Iranian cultural festival has kicked off during a ceremony at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo to introduce Persian heritage and national treasure.
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini and a number of Bosnian scholars and academics attended the opening ceremony held on January 13, 2013.
Holding the festival will promote cultural dialogue between Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Iranian Minister Hosseini during the ceremony.
Many Persian art pieces created by more than 30 artists have been presented at the event.
The displayed works represent Iranian calligraphy, painting, carpet weaving, inlaid, illumination and enamel.
Traditional Iranian music, screening of movies and puppet shows are also to be presented during the five-day festival.
Organized by Iran’s cultural office in Sarajevo, the festival is scheduled to run until January 19, 2013.
