Tehran, July 7, IRNA – A senior member of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture announced formation of an advisory commission at the Chamber for post-sanction period.
Pointing to the post-sanction period, Mehdi Jahangiri said events occurred in the past two years and support of the Leader of the Revolution and good administration of the 11th government resulted in convergence of the government with the components of the system which is considered as the greatest achievement no matter whatever the outcome.
He further remarked that if the nuclear talks reach a positive result, it will certainly have historical achievements for the country and especially the economy sector while one of the missions of members of the Chamber is to put plans on the agenda which are effective for the country’s economy.
He said unfortunately the sanctions caused multiple costs for the country and the economic system, adding that certainly lifting the sanctions will create proper achievements for the country.
As for the post-sanction threats, Jahangiri said naturally in the post-sanction period great resources will arrive in the country and liquidity volume will sharply increase and this will escalate inflation in the country which should be confronted seriously and managed properly.
Referring to the issue of increase in government earnings after lifting of the sanctions he said lifting of oil sanctions will increase general income which can be considered both as a threat and an opportunity but as economic activists, members of the Chamber should elucidate the mission of Chamber in this regard.
However, he added, the Chamber of Commerce as a representative of the country’s private sector has proposed some plans for this period, including holding scientific conferences for supervision, building culture for creating competitive conditions in the country and formation of a secretariat for Iran’s economy in the post-sanction period.
